Two Hopkinsville women were flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center Tuesday afternoon after the moped they were riding collided with a car.
According to Hopkinsville Police Public Information officer Paul Ray, the moped carrying 16-year old Jasmine Lacquia, and 20-year old Isabella Lacquia, was traveling southbound on North Main Street, approaching the intersection with Glass Avenue, when a northbound vehicle driven by 21-year old Samantha Lamb, of Hopkinsville, attempted to turn left and pulled into the path of the moped.
Both Jasmine and Isabella Lacquia were initially transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, and then later flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Officials at Vanderbilt say both are in critical condition.
Lamb was not injured in the accident, which occurred around 4:00pm Tuesday.
