From the News Edge: Transportation officials are reporting a traffic backup along the westbound lanes of I-24 in the work zone from near the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line to the Fort Campbell Boulevard exit. The contractor is pouring concrete as part of ongoing pavement rehabilitation work around the 89-mile marker, near the Pembroke-Oak Grove exit. While concrete trucks are moving in and out of this work area delivering material, the traffic backup appears to be more related to heavy traffic along the westbound lanes today. Westbound I-24 traffic in this work zone is backed up about 3 to 4 miles at this time with traffic slowed to about 35 mph in the area. To help reduce traffic congestion in this area, regular commuters who normally travel this section of I-24 westbound are being asked to seek an alternate route, if possible...............................................................................................................................A Night With The Blues is Saturday night at the Alhambra Theatre. Hoppers Win Regular Season Championship

With a doubleheader split on Sunday, the Hoptown Hoppers wrapped up the regular season with a record of 28-12. The mark was good enough to place the Hoppers five games in front of second place Fulton.

The Hoppers will now begin their post season Wednesday, when they kick off a best of three series against either Marion or Owensboro. Those two teams will have a one game playoff Tuesday night. The other best of three semi-final series will have Madisonville taking on Fulton.

The best of three league championship series is set to start July 28th.
