POLICE: Cadiz Man Arrested For Reckless Driving

A Cadiz man is facing several charges after reportedly driving under the influence and failing to stop after his car tires suffered a blow out.

Cadiz Police Officer Scott Brown and Sergeant Chad Grace say 21 year old Jamiston Stewart of Rabbit Ridge Road was arrested Tuesday afternoon just before 3 o'clock for criminal mischief, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, menacing and disorderly conduct.

Brown says he was called to Cerulean Road for a reckless driver with two flat tires driving on metal rims. The report says Brown followed the rubber trail half a mile to West End Street a car, in which Stewart was sitting in the driver's seat. Sergeant Grace says Stewart failed a field sobriety test and refused others. Officer Brown says a 12-gage shotgun was found in the floorboard of the car.

Due to his perceived alcohol intoxication, Stewart was reportedly taken to Trigg County Hospital for medical clearence. While at the hospital, Sergeant Grace says Stewart yelled at officers and hospital staff as well as threatened to kill hospital staff.

Stewart was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
