One area county is lifting the burn ban due to recent rainfall and continuing humid conditions.
Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries announced that he will lift the county ban, that has remained in place for several days, due to extremely dry and hot conditions. Humphries adds the ban on personal fireworks has also been lifted. He says if conditions get worse, the county will consider issuing the ban again. Humphries adds the cooling shelter at East Golden Pond Fire Department continues to be available on an "as needed" basis.
Meanwhile Christian County Judge Executive Steve Tribble, Lyon County Judge Executive Wade White and Marshall County Judge Executive Mike Miller say their county burn bans will remain in place, adding they do not think the counties have received enough rainfall in all areas to merit lifting the ban.
Burn ban also remain in place in Caldwell and Todd Counties at this time, although both counties have lifted the fireworks ban.
