From the News Edge: Transportation officials are reporting a traffic backup along the westbound lanes of I-24 in the work zone from near the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line to the Fort Campbell Boulevard exit. The contractor is pouring concrete as part of ongoing pavement rehabilitation work around the 89-mile marker, near the Pembroke-Oak Grove exit. While concrete trucks are moving in and out of this work area delivering material, the traffic backup appears to be more related to heavy traffic along the westbound lanes today. Westbound I-24 traffic in this work zone is backed up about 3 to 4 miles at this time with traffic slowed to about 35 mph in the area. To help reduce traffic congestion in this area, regular commuters who normally travel this section of I-24 westbound are being asked to seek an alternate route, if possible...............................................................................................................................A Night With The Blues is Saturday night at the Alhambra Theatre. Cadiz - Trigg County Chamber Of Commerce Annual Dinner



Do you think Cadiz and Trigg County is sexy? That was the question posed by Nelson County Kim Huston who was the featured speaker for the 49th Annual Cadiz-Trigg County Chamber Annual Dinner Thursday at Lake Barkley State Park.  Huston talked about what makes a small, such as Cadiz, sexy. She also discussed the importance of small business, how to encourage young people to return home and why small towns are vital.

During the awards ceremony, Chamber Chairman Mallory Lawrence presented the Citizen of the Year award to Trigg County Schools Community Education Director Brenda Southwick.

The Educator of the Year award was presented to Trigg County High School Engineering instructor Lori Ricks. 

The Ambassador of the Year award was presented to Miranda Roberts. 

And the Future Leader of the Year award was presented to Trigg County High School Engineering Program Graduates Samantha Harper and Nick Wright.

Retiring Chamber Chairman Mallory Lawrence presented her annual report.  She then passed the gavel to new Chairman Beth Mann, who laid out her plan for the next year.
