From the News Edge: Transportation officials are reporting a traffic backup along the westbound lanes of I-24 in the work zone from near the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line to the Fort Campbell Boulevard exit. The contractor is pouring concrete as part of ongoing pavement rehabilitation work around the 89-mile marker, near the Pembroke-Oak Grove exit. While concrete trucks are moving in and out of this work area delivering material, the traffic backup appears to be more related to heavy traffic along the westbound lanes today. Westbound I-24 traffic in this work zone is backed up about 3 to 4 miles at this time with traffic slowed to about 35 mph in the area. To help reduce traffic congestion in this area, regular commuters who normally travel this section of I-24 westbound are being asked to seek an alternate route, if possible...............................................................................................................................A Night With The Blues is Saturday night at the Alhambra Theatre. Trigg County Woman Injured In Calloway Accident

A Trigg County woman was among three people injured Friday afternoon in a two vehicle accident in Calloway County. State Police say 87-year old Irvan Herndon, of Nashville, was northbound on Kentucky 121, and was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Shoemaker Road, when he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by 20-year old Jennifer Hyde, of Cadiz.

Herndon's vehicle came to a stop against a tree, while Hyde's vehicle came to rest in the grass, off the shoulder of the roadway. Hyde, Herndon, and his wife, 87-year old Avis Herndon, were all transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital following the accident, which occurred around 2:00pm. Hyde was transported by private vehicle.
