A law firm representing Foss Maritime, the company that owns the Delta Mariner, is proposing to leave the bridge debris from the collapsed section of the Eggners Ferry Bridge in Kentucky Lake. Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries told Fiscal Court he was contacted Monday by an attorney from the firm. The company is proposing to donate a portion of the money it would take to remove the debris, to agencies in Trigg County and Marshall County.
In return the company is wanting to avoid paying to remove the steel and concrete that was torn off by the Delta Mariner. Judge Humphries said he is sure other state and federal agencies will be included in the decision making process concerning the debris removal.
