Veterans Day 2011 - Cadiz Woman Served In World War 2
Reeling from the attack on Pearl Harbor, American men marched off to the battlefields. With the escalation of War World II in Europe and the Pacific Rim, women began filling non-combat positions through the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. For the first time, women served in Army positions other than nursing, both at home and overseas. Christine Larkins of Cadiz was one of 150,000 women who served as Army auxiliaries.
