Search Continues In Little River For Truck

Glenwood Mill Road will be closed Sunday to allow Trigg County Rescue and other emergency officials to search for a vehicle and driver that ran off the road into Little River Saturday night. Trigg County Public Information Officer James Flood says the search began last night shortly after 8:00 when dispatchers received a call that a vehicle had missed the curve at the Glenwood Mill Road bridge and gone into the river. Rescue officials from Trigg and Marshall Counties searched for more than five hours Saturday night, but were unable to locate the vehicle. Flood says high water levels from recent rainfall is hampering the search effort.

Flood says officials think the vehicle is very close to the Glenwood Mill Road bridge area.

Flood adds normally that portion of the river is not very deep, but the recent rains have changed that.

He says officials are not releasing the name of the person who was driving the truck yet. Flood adds there has been no other contact with the driver since he called family members last night to tell them he had run into the river, with family members quickly calling 9-1-1 for assistance.
