Ten People Killed In Highway Accidents Last Week



State Police say ten people died in nine separate crashes on Kentucky roadways last week. Eight of the fatalities involved motor vehicles and five victims were not wearing seat belts. 

Single-fatality crashes occurred in Laurel, Madison, Marshall, Powell, Todd and Warren counties. One double-fatality crash occurred in Simpson County. The crash in Warren County involved the suspected use of alcohol.

There was one motorcycle involved fatality in Marion County and the victim was not wearing a helmet. One pedestrian involved crash occurred in Jefferson County and involved the suspected use of alcohol.

Through June 10, 320 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2012. This is 41 more fatalities than reported for the same time period in 2011.
