State VFW Commander: Embrace Veterans This Veterans Day

Saturday is Veterans Day and the Commander of the Department of Kentucky Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States says it is a day that should be special for all Americans. Karle Johnson is a member of the Trigg County VFW Post 7890 and was elected to state office over the summer. Johnson says Veterans Day brings with it a meaningful significance.


   
He adds the day should be personal for everyone.


   
Johnson served in the US Army for 22 years retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1994. He wanted to leave the community with one message.

He was the key speaker at the 18th Annual Trigg County Veterans Day Parade Friday.

Hopkinsville and Christian County will host a Veterans Day Parade Saturday at 10am. The parade will start at the War Memorial Building and end at the Christian County Justice Center with a program. WHVO will be broadcasting live from downtown Hopkinsville.
