Sweet 16 Finals Moving To Sunday

There will be a change in the schedule of the Boys and Girls Sweet 16 going forward. After a successful trial run in the Boys Sweet 16 this year, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Board of Control voted Monday to play both the Boys and Girls Sweet 16 basketball championship games on Sundays starting next year.

The rest of the Sweet 16 format will stay the same, with first round games on Wednesday and Thursday, quarterfinals on Friday and semifinals on Saturday. In the past, semifinals had been played on Saturday morning with the winners advancing to the championships game on Saturday night.
