Race For Trigg District 5 Magistrate Shaping Up

Two filings to report in Trigg County Friday. A Republican is hoping to land a seat on the Trigg County Fiscal Court representing Caledonia. Alana Baker filed to run for the District 5 seat.

She says she sees it as a way to give back to the community that raised her.

Baker says over the coming months, she will share her ideas and goals, but right now she is focused on hearing from residents. Baker is the only Republican to file for the seat. Incumbent John Gray and Democratic Challenger Kenneth Cherry will appear on the May Primary Ballot. As of now, Baker will face the winner in the November General Election.

Meanwhile, William Eddie Proffitt filed to run on the Republican ticket for Trigg County Jailer. He will face incumbent James Hughes in the November General Election.
