Nearly 40 Flu Deaths Reported In Kentucky

Influenza is causing numerous deaths across the United States and even here in Kentucky. Christian County Health Department Epidemiologist Blake Johnson says there have been nearly 40 deaths reported in the state.



The flu can be spread very easily by coughing, sneezing, sharing drinks with someone whose ill, and touching contaminated surfaces. Johnson says the flu shot is your best preventative, but offers some other tips to avoid help you ward off the influenza virus.



If you have not received a flu vaccination, you may want to do so.



If you want to get a flu shot, you can do so at the Christian County Health Department. Johnson recommends calling to make an appointment. They are open 8am until 4pm Monday through Friday.
