More Ramp Closures On Interstate 24 Interchange

State transportation officials have announced another upcoming series of ramp closures at the Interstate 24 Exit 86 Interchange with Fort Campbell Boulevard, beginning next Monday. Officials say the contractor will be conducting the closures to allow shoulder curbing, milling, pavement and guardrail work along the ramps.

The closures will be phased over a three week period, so as to allow access from one direction or the other along Fort Campbell Boulevard. During the week of September 30th, the ramps from Fort Campbell Boulevard southbound to I-24 westbound, and I-24 eastbound to the Boulevard will be closed. The week of October 7th, the ramps from Fort Campbell Boulevard southbound to I-24 eastbound, and I-24 westbound to the Boulevard will be closed. The week of October 14th, the ramps from Fort Campbell Boulevard northbound to I-24 eastbound, and the Boulevard northbound to I-24 westbound will be closed.

The closure schedule will allow an alternate route between Fort Campbell Boulevard and Interstate 24 during the ramp work. Motorists will be able to travel to the next intersection or interchange, do a turnaround, and access an open ramp from the opposite direction during the closures. Officials say work on each ramp is expected to take about 5 days to complete, weather permitting.
