The City of Madisonville will soon have a new 18-hole mini golf course for the public to enjoy.

City officials announced on social media that the mini golf course will be an addition to the fully operational 9-hole golf course at the City Park Golf Course with the intention to appeal to more of the general public.

Tourism Board Adam Townsend says he’s excited for the addition of a miniature golf course. He adds that instead of going out of town to Owensboro or Evansville, the City is working to add more things in Madisonville for kids to do. Townsend says they are hoping that this is the start of a new era of increased tourism in Madisonville, bringing more new faces than ever before to see everything the City has to offer.

Madisonville Mayor David Jackson says, “It’s wonderful to have miniature golf come to Madisonville.” He adds, “It’s the perfect illustration of restaurant tax dollar at work through Madisonville Forward to create an environment where parents and their children can connect and have fun.”

With a projected investment of $420,000 from the Madisonville Forward initiative, the mini golf course is expected to have 11 out of 18 holes that will be ADA-compliant. The anticipated completion of the mini golf course is July 2018, depending on the weather.
