Man Flown To Hospital After Clarksville Crash

A 55-year old man was flown to a Nashville hospital after a two vehicle wreck in Clarksville Thursday afternoon. Clarksville Police Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says the crash occurred around 1:40pm when a pickup truck driven by the 55-year old man was traveling east on Crossland Avenue and a vehicle driven by an 18-year old male ran a redlight at Talley Drive and collided with the side of the pickup truck.

The 55-year old man was reportedly taken to Tennova Medical Center in Clarksville and then flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in critical condition. Knoll indicates as of Friday, he is stable and alert.

Knoll says eyewitnesses told officers the 18-year old was driving at a high rate of speed on Talley Drive when he ran the redlight. Officers also reportedly found marijuana inside the truck driven by the teen.

The teen and his two passengers, a 19-year old male and an 18-year old female, were uninjured in the collision.

Knoll indicates charges are pending.
