Man Arrested After Throwing Child Against Wall

A Clarksville man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening his girlfriend with a knife and throwing her one year old child against a wall during a domestic dispute. Police say they were called out around 5:15pm Wednesday to 3709 Nadia Drive in reference to a domestic assault in progress.

When Clarksville Police arrived on the scene, they were told that 31-year old Patrick Winter had come home from work and began to argue with his girlfriend. The dispute turned physical, with Winter grabbing her hand and twisting the wrist, causing some fingernails to break.

After calming down briefly, the couple started to argue again. Winter had been supposed to watch the child, but passed out from drinking, at which time, the child had gotten into some medication. The argument escalated, with Winter grabbing a knife, holding it against the woman's wrist and neck, threatening to kill her. Winter then grabbed the child and tossed her against a wall.

After the woman picked up the child, the assault continued and they were both threatened with the knife as Winter pinned them against a wall, and punched a hole in the wall. Police were called when Winter exited the residence. When police arrived, Winter was arrested on two counts of Aggravated Assault, Child Abuse, and Vandalism.
