Two Murray State University athletes were injured Friday morning in Indiana when their mini-bus hit a patch of ice on Interstate 69 and overturned onto its side. MSU Officials say the nine women were members of the track and field team on their way to the Indiana University Relays.
MSU Director of Athletics Allen Ward says his first concern was the athletes and coaches involved and he is please that none of the injures turned out to be serious. The accident occured around 10:30am, near the 43 mile marker, and the Pike-Gibson County line, south of Bloomington. Ward says it is anticipated that the women will compete in the meet as planned.
