Scott Brown handles most of the sports duties for Ham Broadcasting. In addition to providing daily sports news on this blog, he broadcasts high school football, basketball and baseball games on WKDZ and WHVO. He also hosts the Saturday Morning Sports Report on WKDZ - one of the few local sports programs in the area. Hoppers Beat Fulton; Play Home Opener Tonight

The Hoptown Hoppers overcame an early deficit to beat Fulton 6-2 Saturday and run their season record to 2-0.

DH Jeffrey Kammer (Webster University) had three hits and drove in two runs for the Hoppers, who scored two runs in the third and fourth innings and single runs in the fifth and eighth innings.

Korie Vire (Spaudling) allowed six hits over six innings and struck out three.   Trevor Blocker struck out two batters over the final two innings.

Owensboro beat Dubois County 6-5 in their season opener and remain a half-game behind the Hoppers in first place.

Hoptown can extend that lead tonight when they host the Oilers at 7pm at Colonel Field.
