Hopkinsville Police say there are no suspects in an early morning shooting that occurred shortly after one this morning in the Liberty and East 11th Streets area.
Sgt Chris Aldridge told the News Edge the victim was 26 year-old Travis Thomas, who showed up at Jennie Stuart Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his leg. Thomas reportedly told police he was walking down the street when a car drove up beside him. When he heard gunshots, Thomas got into another vehicle and later realized he had been shot in the leg. Sgt. Aldridge says Thomas' injuries are non-life threatening.
He says police officers were already in the area due to another incident and heard gunshots, but did not realize someone had been shot until they received a call from Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
