A man who grew up in Hopkinsville is one of four new park managers in Kentucky. David K. Smith has been named as the new park manager at Jefferson Davis State Historic Site in Fairview, according to Kentucky State Parks officials.
Smith has worked with Kentucky State Parks since 2010, working at Lake Barkley State Resort Park and most recently as business manager for Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park. Smith is a Navy veteran and earned his degree is business economics from Murray State University.
Another man who served as park manager at Kenlake State Resort Park, Joe Mounce, has been named as the new park manager at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park near Corbin. Mounce, a Somerset native, also served as business manager at Cumberland Falls Resort Park and most recently as park manager for Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park.
