Hopkinsville Man Charged With Drug Trafficking

Police say a traffic stop for a turn signal violation on North Main Street Thursday night netted the arrest of a Hopkinsville man for drug trafficking. Hopkinsville Police say the stop occurred in the 700 block Main Street around 6:10pm after the driver, 38-year old Corey Stubbs, did not give a turn signal at the intersection of East 1st and North Virginia Streets.

Upon contact with Stubbs, police report strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. During a search, officers reportedly found a large amount of prescription medication and marijuana.

Stubbs was taken into custody and lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with 1st Degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and two traffic violations.
