Hopkinsville Man Charged With Assaulting Girlfriend

A Hopkinsville man was arrested Friday afternoon after he allegedly injured his girlfriend during an argument that turned physical. Hopkinsville Police report they were called to the emergency room at Jennie Stuart Medical Center around 2:30pm for a female that had been assaulted. Upon arrival, police say they met with the victim who stated that she and her live-in boyfriend, 55-year old William Lyle, Sr., were involved in a verbal argument when he took a gray tub containing Indian items from her hands and hit on top of her head. Police indicate the female victim had a knot on the top left portion of her head and she stated she was in a lot of pain.

Lyle was arrested shortly before 5:00pm and lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with 4th Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).
