Hopkinsville Man Charged With Assault

Police say a Hopkinsville man was arrested on a warrant in connection to an assault that injured a man so severely he’s on life-support in a Nashville hospital.

According to the arrest warrant, 33-year old Timothy Brown and two other men were at a gathering Sunday morning where people were hanging out shooting basketball and drinking when an argument began between the victim’s friend and one of Brown’s friends. When the victim tried to intervene to stop the argument from escalating, Brown and his friends allegedly beat, punched and kicked him causing serious physical injury. Police say other parties waited with the victim until the ambulance came to transport him to the hospital where he was immediately flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville due to the severity of in his injuries. The warrant states the victim is on life support.

Police report Brown was taken into custody in the 100 block of South Fowler Avenue early Monday morning. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
