Hopkinsville Community College Graduations Scheduled For May 5

Officials with Hopkinsville Community College announced Tuesday afternoon their plans for spring commencement, which will include two ceremonies.

Set for Friday, May 5, the first honors will be shared at noon, and is intended for students earning a technical associate of applied science degree, diploma or certificate. Those on this path should arrive by 11:30 AM.

At 3 PM, students earning an associate of arts or associate of science degree will have their opportunity to walk. Those on this path should arrive by 2:30 PM.

Both events will be held on HCC’s campus in the Auditorium Building, inside the Thomas L. Riley Lecture Hall. And both will be streamed live on HCC’s Facebook page, with video available later for replay.

Per HCC Registrar Tiffanie Witt, there are 345 students who have applied for 699 graduating credentials — including 202 two-year degrees, 21 diplomas and 404 certificates.

HCC President Dr. Alissa Young will preside over the ceremony, and a number of academic award winners — as well as the HCC Spirit Cup victor — will be revealed.

The Nurse Pinning Ceremony is also planned for 9 AM that same Friday, and is also going to take place in the Lecture Hall. There are 22 nurses slated for participation.

Tickets are required for entry to the noon and 3 p.m. ceremonies. They can be obtained through a graduating student.
