Three Kentucky airport towers, including two in western Kentucky could be shut down if automatic federal budget cuts take effect on March 1. FAA officials say the control towers at Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport and Barkley Regional Airport, in Paducah, are on the list of 100 facilities that would likely close if the Federal Aviation Administration has to slice 600-million dollars from its budget this year.
The FAA has also said it would also have to furlough a majority of its workers if the cuts go into effect.
