Crash Victim Was Stabbed



Hopkinsville Police say there are no suspects in the case of a Fort Campbell man who ran into the front of a Fort Campbell Boulevard business after he was allegedly assaulted and stabbed. Sgt Mike Platero tells the news Edge police discovered 25-year old Jeffrey Bess' vehicle Sunday night lodged against the Bluegrass Finance Building on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Platero says during the course of the accident investigation, police realized the victim had been stabbed.


   
Police say the attack on Bess took place at 883 Honeysuckle Drive, where Bess was beaten up and stabbed by multiple suspects, sometime between 3:00pm and 8:30pm. Bess was able to get away from his attackers, but suffered medical complications from the stabbing, and crashed his vehicle around 8:30pm. Police found Bess unresponsive and reportedly smelling of alcohol.
