Crappie USA Hosting Tournament On Lake Barkley

Crappie USA will host a two-day fishing tournament on Lake Barkley in April.

Operations Manager Darell Van Vactor tells the News Edge they will be hosting the tournament on the second weekend of the month.

Van Vactor adds there will be several thousand dollars paid out during the two-day event.

The $2,000 rule allows for amateurs to have a fair chance in the competition.

According to Van Vactor, they will also host a free “Crappie Kids Rodeo” on Saturday morning.

Crappie USA and their anglers have contributed to the “Crappie Kids” Scholarships program since 1997. He adds every child who participates in the rodeo will be entered in for a chance to win a scholarship at the end of the season.

Van Vactor says it is very easy to enter the tournament.

The tournament weigh-in site will be located at the Lake Barkley Marina at 4200 State Park Road in Cadiz. The event is open for anyone to enter, but a $25 late fee will be added for entries received after Thursday, March 28th.
