City Council Tours New Municipal Building

The new City of Hopkinsville Municipal Building is a little behind schedule, but City Council members were allowed to see the fully framed interior Thursday afternoon. After a few hiccups during the excavation and weather related delays, Codell Project Manager, Richard Mitchell says the building is well on its way.

The two story building, which includes a partial basement, will be roughly 32-thousand square feet and Mitchell says the construction includes a parking lot on South Virginia Street.

The contractors working hard to bring the structure to completion are mostly from western Kentucky.

Mayor Dan Kemp and the City Council toured the building, included the new city council chambers. For a preview of the inside of the new municipal building visit and, but remember it is only framed in on the inside.
