Christian County School Board Approves Hoppers Contract

The Hoptown Hoppers will play at the Hopkinsville High School Baseball Field after a vote by the Christian County Board of Education Thursday night. Chief Operations Officer, Kathy Hancock says the district usually charges for having personnel at the events.

Board Member Linda Keller was concerned about the facility being ready for June.

The vote on the Hoppers contract followed a vote by the board to change facility use fees, which Board Chairman Barry Cornelius clarified would affect the Hoppers.

The board voted unanimously to approve the contract and afterwards, Hoppers Board of Directors President Carter Hendricks thanked the board.

He and Dr. James Selbe presented the board with two season passes as a thank you for their efforts to help.

In other business, the board voted to adopt the new attendance zone policy, which outlines how the school district will handle attendance now that there is no longer school of choice.
