Christian County Man Accidentally Shot

A Christian County man was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center late Thursday afternoon following an apparent accidental shooting. According to information from the Christian County Sheriff's Office, Granville Thompson, of Dawson Springs Road, was removing a rifle from his safe, when something apparently caused another rifle in the safe to fire more than once.

Thompson was reportedly struck in the head by bullet fragments. He was transported to the hospital for what were thought to be non-life threatening injuries. The incident occurred around 4:30pm Thursday.
