Christian County Leads KY In Wheat Production

Christian County continues to lead the state in winter wheat production. According to the National Ag Statistics Service, Christian County farmers produced more than 4.2 million bushels of wheat from 53,000 acres.

After Christian County, Logan was second on the list with 3.38 million bushels. Todd County was third in the state with 2.33 million bushels of wheat. Simpson and Graves counties rounded out the top five.

Wayne County led the state in wheat yeild, with farmers averaging 84.4 bushels per acre. Meade county farmers produced 83.8 bushels per acre. Union county was third with 83.1, Caldwell was fourth with 82.8 and Daviess County was fifth with an 81.2 bushel per acre average.
