Christian County Imagination Library Program

Despite concerns on fundraising and administration, the Christian County Public Library Board has decided to move forward on their Imagination Library program. At Monday night's meeting, board members voted unanimously to start an Imagination Library program and accept a 200,000-dollar anonymous donation towards that program.  Magistrate Jack Lackey, a non-voting member, expressed his concerns that the donation won't go far in a county this big.

Library Director Jackie Satterly talked about some of the admin concerns and plans that she has for addressing them. A full time initial coordinator will be hired during the startup process and help get the program going. In addition to the Coordinator, Satterly says a volunteer committee will help to run the program.

One suggestion was to fast track the kickoff of the program to possibly start in December to coincide with the downtown Polar Express event that draws so many children from around the county.
