Catlett Murder Trial Continuance Denied By Judge

The murder trial against Julius Catlett, Jr., will go forward in February. Commonwealth’s Attorney Lynn Pryor asked Christian Circuit Judge Andrew Self to continue the trial as there was still DNA testing that has not been completed. After speaking with the Kentucky State Police Central Forensic Laboratory, Judge Self denied the motion.

Catlett is in charge in the fatal shooting of Shaun Smith in September 2016. Pryor was hoping to definitively prove a shirt found at Catlett’s home shortly after the shooting was worn by him. Defense attorney, Brandi Jones indicated she will be filing additional motions.
