A 5K run to honor a fallen Hopkinsville Police officer and raise funds for two charity agencies will be held this weekend.
Christian County Deputy Sheriff Ross Woodward says they originally started the Officer Phillip Meacham Memorial Run to honor and remember his sacrifice.

He says the funds raised this year will support two charity groups.

Even though the deadline for on-line registration on the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation website was last Saturday, Woodward says runners can still register in person at the Christian County Extension Office at 2850 Pembroke Road.

Woodard says you can also register Saturday morning prior to the run.

Woodard says registration for the 5K run/walk will begin at 7:30 Saturday morning in the parking lot at the Christian County Justice Center. The run will start at 8:30 a.m. and will follow the same route as the annual Turkey Trot.
