As countless people converge to downtown Cadiz for the Trigg County Country Ham Festival, local officials will be working hard to keep visitors safe.
Public Works Director Kerry Fowler says Main Street will close for the festival beginning Thursday afternoon.
Cadiz Police Chief Duncan Wiggins tells the News Edge parking is the biggest issue during the three-day festival.
Fowler adds shuttle buses will pick people up in front of the Trigg County High School Gymnasium and the Cadiz Masonic Lodge.
Handicap parking will be available at the Cadiz Christian Church.
Wiggins notes that parking on someone’s property is not a good idea.
Wiggins adds dogs are not allowed at the festival.
If you find yourself in need of anything from law enforcement, either look for an officer or visit the Information Booth on Main Street.
Fowler and Wiggins add they will be working together to provide the best experience for visitors to Cadiz for the festival, which officially begins Friday morning at 9:00.
