Katie Broadbent Prepares For Retirement From Iconic Business

An iconic Trigg County farm market will transition to a new owner October 15 when Katie Broadbent retires and Tin Roof owner Molly Egbert takes over Broadbent Foods and Gifts.

Katie Broadbent says she began to think about retirement when longtime employees Jessica Siegmund and Jackie Oakley told her they wanted to retire.

Broadbent says she sold the store and business to another well known locally owned business.

As she reflects on retirement, Ms. Katie says she and her husband Smith Broadbent, III, are proud of what they started in the Broadbent Square area 32 years ago.

Miss Katie says she always tried to share the load with those who have worked for her through the years.

Did she ever think Broadbent Foods and Gifts would grow to where it is today?

What will Mrs. Katie Broadbent miss the most, the employees and the customers?

Broadbent Foods and Gifts will officially close the doors on Tuesday, October 15.
