Motorists traveling eastbound on Interstate 24 may notice an increase in traffic as music fans travel through western Kentucky to Manchester, Tennessee for the annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival which kicks off Thursday.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says the festival affects traffic on the interstate and businesses along I-24.

He notes the Tennessee Department of Transportation has also provided a detour map.

Todd adds TDOT shared a lot of good information with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet when they were making plans for the Solar Eclipse in western Kentucky nearly two years ago.

The four-day Bonnaroo Festival began in 2002 and features multi-stage live music performers. Music fans from across the nation travel to the annual event which is held on a 700-acre middle Tennessee farm.
TDOT officials say the festival winds down Sunday night.
