A pursuit involving a robbery suspect in Nashville, who was reportedly heading to Christian County, came to an end in Clarksville Tuesday night.
Clarksville Police say the suspect is in custody after he wrecked the vehicle during the pursuit around Lowes on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. Police placed residents near Needmore Road, Forrest Hills, Paddock Apartments and Union Hall on alert until they arrested the suspect.
Law enforcement say during the pursuit shots were fired on Interstate 24 around the 8 mile marker and the suspect also traveled the wrong way on the interstate. Clarksville Police say the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is handling the incident on Interstate 24. The Nashville Metro Police Department is investigating the alleged robbery.
Initial reports indicated the suspect was heading to the Christian County area.
