More information has been released about a woman who led police on a high-speed pursuit over four counties after hitting a police officer Sunday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 43-year-old Jessica Payne of Hopkinsville was stopped on East 9th Street after she stole a car at the Holiday Inn in Hopkinsville.
Payne fled the scene and returned to the Holiday Inn where she came to a stop and Hopkinsville Police Lt. Seth Meek attempted to break the window of the car as officers held her at gunpoint.
She then hit Meek with the car and fled on Fort Campbell Boulevard to Pennyrile Parkway and Interstate 24. The pursuit reached speeds over 120 mph.
The pursuit ended at the 48-mile marker of Interstate 24 westbound in Lyon County.
Payne was taken into custody after she was boxed in by law enforcement.
During the pursuit, she reportedly attempted to hit multiple law enforcement vehicles.
Meek was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his foot.
In Hopkinsville Payne is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault of a police officer, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police and DUI.
Charges are pending in other counties.
