Christian County District Five Board of Education Candidates agree there are many facility needs in the school district, with test scores among their concerns.

Board member Tom Bell and challenger Mark Graham discussed a number of issues during Monday’s Christian County League of Women Voters forum at the Hopkinsville Municipal Building.

When asked about facility needs in the school district, Hopkinsville High School was at the top of the list. Bell says the needs at HHS and other schools are being addressed by the district.

Graham says there needs to be a more timely approach to addressing facility needs.

When asked about the greatest strengths and weaknesses in the Christian County School District, Graham said the staff and students are at the top of the list.

Bell said the diversity within the school district is at the top of the list.

The candidates also discussed test scores, experience managing budgets and their reasons for wanting to serve the students of Christian County during the forum.
