No one was injured when a Christian County School bus was involved in a minor collision on Thomas Street Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police report the bus driver, 61-year old Delbert Rushing of Hopkinsville, was stopped dropping off students shortly before 3:00 p.m. when he backed up and collided with the front of another vehicle driven by 21-year old De’Veckyon Poindexter of Hopkinsville, who was behind the bus. Police say Rushing was backing up to return a backpack that one of the students had left on the bus and he didn’t realize the car was behind him.
Police indicate there were six students on the bus at the time of the accident. There were no injuries reported to anyone on the bus or in the car.
