Sunday Afternoon Storms Bring Power Outages-Heavy Rain

A line of Severe Thunderstorms Sunday afternoon brought heavy rain and left some western Kentucky Residents without electricity.  The storms began moving through the area around 12:20, resulting in Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in Lyon, Marshall, Trigg, and Calloway Counties.

Although the last warning for Trigg County was allowed to expire around 2:00, the storms continued to produce rainfall through the afternoon.  The rains pushed rainfall totals for the day to between two and three inches.  The National Weather Service received no reports of storm damage in the southern Pennyrile.

The storms Sunday morning and afternoon also left more than 700 Pennyrile Electric Customers without electricity.  As of late Sunday afternoon, only a few Pennyrile Customers were without power in Trigg, Christian and southern Caldwell counties.
