A Hopkinsville man was charged with his 2nd DUI after he crashed his motorcycle Tuesday afternoon on Fort Campbell Boulevard near Novadell Way.

Hopkinsville Police report 39-year old Joseph Johnson was traveling south on the boulevard at 5:30 p.m. when he came around a cruve just before Novadell Way and lost control of his motorcycle and ran into the ditch. Police say after riding the motorcycle through the ditch and beside a white fence a short distance, Johnson and his motorcycle crashed through the fence before coming to a stop at Novadell. Johnson reportedly told officers he was not going fast, he is just an inexperienced driver and shouldn’t have been driving a motorcycle after he had been drinking.

Johnson was transported by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Johnson was arrested at the hospital and booked into the Christian County charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs Aggravating Circumstances, 2nd Offense.
