A traffic stop at the intersection of West 9th and Bethel Streets led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville woman on weapon and drug charges.

Hopkinsville Police report 39-year old Amy Williams was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation just after midnight Thursday. Police say Williams had a slap jack concealed inside her purse and was taken into custody. On the way to the jail, officers say Williams admitted to having pills in her bra. At the jail, personnel reportedly found 3 half-Lortab pills and two unknown pills, which were later identified as Gabapentin. Police indicate Williams has a prescription for the Gabapentin but they were not in a proper container.

Williams was booked into the Christian County Jail Friday morning charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, 1st Degree Possession of Controlled Substance (Opiates), and Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container.
