A Hopkinsville woman was arrested in Hopkins County Wednesday afternoon and charged with trafficking meth. After receiving information that 33-year old Brittany Watkins was driving on a suspended operator’s license, had an active warrant, and could possibly be driving a white Ford Ranger, the Madisonville/Hopkins County Vice/Narcotics Unit says detectives stopped the truck in the Bestway parking lot in Nortonville at 3:10 p.m.

Detectives say Watkins gave them consent to search the vehicle in which they found a set of digital scales, a small amount of meth, a small plastic container with 2 hydrochloride pills and a syringe/needle in her purse. According to detectives, Watkins admitted the purse and its contents belong to her.

Watkins was booked into the Hopkins County Jail charged with 1st Degree Trafficking a Controlled Substance Less Than 2 Grams of Methamphetamine, 2nd Degree Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating on a Suspended/Revoked License, and Failure to Appear.
