An autopsy will be conducted Monday on the body of a male who was found dead on Deason Lane Sunday evening, according to Christian County Deputy Coroner Zach Lamb. He tells the News Edge the autopsy is being conducted to also determine the cause and time of death.

According to Chrisitian County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Captain Chris Miller, around 7:12 p.m. a passerby noticed what appeared to be a body lying in a wood line on the side of Deason Lane, about 1/4 mile from the Antioch Road intersection. Miller says the coroner’s office was called to the scene and Lamb pronounced the male victim dead. Miller says at this time it is unclear how long the body has been at the location.

Investigators are conducting a death investigation and continuing to process the scene. Captain Miller says no other information is being released at this time; however, he adds updates will be provided as information is released by lead investigators.

Miller asks anyone with information about the death investigation to contact the Hopkinsville-Christian County ECC at (270) 890-1300 and ask for Detective Lt. Scott Noisworthy.
