Disturbance Leads To Arrest On Gun Charge

Police say a disturbance led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville man on various charges after he threatened to pistol whip his brother during an argument.

Hopkinsville Police responded to call in the 1700 block of South Virginia Street where officers determined two brothers had been arguing when 25-year old Kwame McGregor threatened and attempted to pistol whip his brother with a handgun. Police say the victim told officers that McGregor threw a shotgun in the trash gun and had a handgun hidden in his belongings. Police located the shotgun and handgun where the victim where the brother said they could be found.

Police say a background check showed McGregor was a felon and he was taken into custody shortly before noon Thursday.

McGregor was lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon, 2nd Degree Wanton Endangerment, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
