Brooke Jung Named Visitors Bureau Executive Director

 

The Hopkinsville-Christian Convention and Visitors Bureau announced Friday that Brooke Jung has been selected as its Executive Director to replace Cheryl Cook, who is retiring June 30.

Jung, a Louisville native, recently served as Hopkinsville’s Solar Eclipse Marketing and Events Consultant, leading the community’s efforts in welcoming more than 116,000 visitors from 47 states and 25 countries to Hoptown, resulting in an economic impact of $28.5 million.

Jung and her husband, Chris Jung recently moved to California. She spoke to the News Edge and says she is thrilled to be coming back to Hopkinsville and Christian County.

Jung adds she is excited to continue the tourism momentum of Hopkinsville and Christian County, and looks forward to captializing on the momentum of the Solar Eclipse.

She also wants to seek creative methods for promoting the region as a long-term tourism destination.

Jung brings over a decade of career event and marketing experience, ranging from the Kentucky Derby to Chicago Bears. With a deeply rooted background in tourism, officials say she has also held positions at the Christian County Chamber of Commerce, Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau and Louisville Sports Commission.Jung holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Morehead State University and a Master of Arts in Communication from Bellarmine University.
